2010 ASA-ETC Calendar of Events

Knox County School Superintendent Jim McIntyre is hosting the final public forum of the 2009 - 2010 school year to hear community, parent, and student insights about the district. Session begins at 6pm at Karns High School.  

ASA-ETC is hosting a STEP Workshop entitled "Effective Transition Planning -- 14 and Beyond". (This workshop was originally scheduled for 2/9/10 and cancelled due to bad weather.) It will be held on Tuesday 3/9/10 from 6 - 9pm at West Park Baptist Church. Workshop is free, but RSVP is required. Disability Day on the Hill (DDH) is right around the corner. East TN's day is scheduled for March 10, 2010. here will be a bus traveling from East TN for this event. PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THE BUSES!!!!!!!! For East TN transportation, please contact Keith Rearden at the disABILITY Resource Center: (865) 637-3666.  Please start making appointments with your legislators. ASA-ETC is hosting a STEP Workshop on IEP's. This is a hands-on workshop designed for parents who have attended the BASIC Rights workshop and are ready for the "Next Step" -- fine tuning the IEP document to reflect all of your child's unique needs to lead toward positive educational outcomes. Participants may bring their child's IEP and learn specific techniques to use in developing goals and objectives designed to meet their child's individual needs. Workshop will be held from 6 - 9pm at West Park Baptist Church. Workshop is free, but RSVP is required. RSVP to: asaetc@gmail.com or (865) 247-5082.
